2012 Olympics

Ticket prices for 2012 Olympics announced:

LONDON, UK--The organizers of the 2012 Olympics have announced the ticket prices for those Games in London July 27-August 12, 2012.

Ticket pricing structures for Aquatics events are:
-Swimming--finals: £450 / £295 / £185 / £95 / £50
-Swimming--prelims: £150 / £95 / £65 / £40 / £20

-Open Water: £60 / £40 / £20
The tickets will go on sale in March 2011. Further information is available on the London 2012 Tickets website here:http://www.tickets.london2012.com/

2012 Olympic Schedule Announced:

-Swimming: July 28-August 4
-Open Water: August 9+10
-Diving: July 29-August 1, August 3-11
-Synchro: August 5-7, 9+10
-Water Polo: July 29-August 10 & August 12

Opening Ceremonies are Friday, July 27.
Closing Ceremonies are Sunday, August 12.

Hi ICS parents,

Mitch has been busy planning a fun event for our CANDU non-competitive (ie., fitness) and Stage 2 & 3 I Can swim swimmers.

Here is the outline:

*Saturday, Dec 11, participate in a fun "Candy Cane Meet" at Carlton University (ROC swim club hosting just us) from 11:30 - 1:30
     - just for fun, similar to the great pumpkin.
*Travel to Morrisburg to visit Upper Canada Village and the Festival of Lights
    - open to any ICS swimmer & family, even if too young for meet - join us there, or come cheer on our swimmers first.
    - families travel separately, but we visit the village as a group.
    - stay overnight nearby and play or shop on the way home Sunday - many opportunities....


For the moment, we would like to get an idea of numbers (we do know a few details such as cost, but...).  Please reply to this email to indicate one of the following:

1.  Great!  Will bring family for both the fun meet and Upper Canada Village,
2.  Not interested,
3.  Fun meet only,
4.  Upper Canada Village only,
5.  Need more information, or
6.  Possible, but cannot commit yet.

Please let me know your thoughts by Monday November 15th.

Upcoming Time Trial and Fun Day!

TIME TRIAL ($10.00) à Open to any competitive, fitness or ICS Stage 3 Swimmer.  See conditions below.

FUN DAY & PIZZA PARTY ($5.00) à Open to any Candu/ICS Swimmer.

ENTRY CONDITIONS FOR TIME TRIAL:

1. Competitive Swimmers (See billet a).  Fitness/ICS Stage 3 (See bullet b).
1. This will be a Time Trial with events for Competitive Swimmers registered with SNC affiliated organisations; there are no time standards.
2. Times are not sanctioned but will be recorded for club/athlete use.  Swimmer must be able to swim 50m of the pool independently without the use of a flotation device.

2.     Swimmers are limited to 3 individual events – not including the FUN relays!!!  The coaching staff will choose the events.

3.     Indicate if you’re participating or not to the club’s general email account deeprivercandus@gmail.com

·       Please make cheques payable to Deep River Candus and place in black mail box at pool by Fri October 29, 2010.  Without payment the entries will not be uploaded.

·       To pay by cash, exact change will be accepted at practices the week of October 25/2010.  Please pay the supervising coach on deck. 

Officials

We do require help with officials in order to run a time trial.  If you would like to volunteer please indicate when you respond whether or not your child is participating.
