Swim Officials Needed

The Deep River Candu’s needs your help for our Swim Meets.

In order to run a swim meet, the Club needs to provide over 35 Officials. At this point in time, our Swim Club is in dire need of Timers and Stroke & Turn Judges for our meet in the spring.

For a swim meet to take place, 3 Timers are required for each lane. We are asking that any adult or high school student who is willing to take 2 hours of training, to step forward to support our Club.

Training will be from 10:00am-12:00pm on the morning of 21 October at the South Side Community Centre in Petawawa.

The training is free, and for high school students, volunteer hours will be given for both the training and supporting our meets.

In the afternoon, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm there will be a clinic for Stroke & Turn Judges. If you’ve previously taken the Timing Course and have worked a meet as a timer, please consider taking this course.

It takes a minimum of 6 Stroke & Turn Judges for a meet with 6 lanes.

We ask that you please seriously consider this request, as we need these officials to run our meets.

Working as an official at a swim meet guarantees you the best seat in the house to watch the races, as well as a free lunch at the meets.

If you have any questions or wish to attend please contact Jim McKenna at 613-584-1692 or 613-633-8034.

Thank you very much.
